Hi, I’m Shehla Lucanera and my company is West Coast Writing House.

I help interior designers tell their story with clarity, confidence and elegance. Let’s elevate your business with the right words and attract your ideal clients.

Why do I work with interior designers?

After years of writing in the luxury space—including editorial features for top interior design magazines—I had the privilege of interviewing and collaborating with dozens of amazing designers.

I quickly realized: no two designers are ever alike. Some come from formal design backgrounds, while others have boldly followed their passion, bringing a wealth of experience from past careers. Each designer’s story is distinct and every path to design is deeply personal and wonderful. I’ve had the joy of working with intelligent, driven creatives whose diverse journeys shape the remarkable interiors they create.

Along with my background in Communications and PR, I’m an alumni of some of the best Copywriting courses. I learned the art of persuasive writing—how to structure information, shape perception, and position a brand to be as compelling and desirable as possible.

While creating elegant, impactful website copy for a range of clients, I decided to serve my favorite professionals: interior designers. I sincerely admire the work you do, transforming spaces and enriching lifestyles.

Warmly, Shehla Lucanera

My goals are to:

Your artist’s expertise is priceless.

Connect with clients that you love. Clients who understand that design is a life-changing luxury. Your work leaves a lasting legacy. You deserve to work with clients who value your genius.

The right words attract the right clientele.

Say yes to:

Projects that amplify your portfolio

Soul-filling projects that boost you to be your best creative self

Operating at the height of your brilliance

And gracefully say no to clients expecting luxury on a shoestring.

Words are powerful.

You need the right clients. The ones who see your value, respect your process and are ready to invest in your work without hesitation.

According to the Pareto Principle, 80% of your revenue often comes from just 20% of your clients. But with intentional, elevated messaging, we can shift that balance—so that more of your client base looks like your top 20%.

Strategic copy doesn’t just inform—it refines your audience, amplifies your appeal, and helps you fill your calendar with projects that energize you, not drain you.

A bit about me.

One of the most exciting chapters of my early career was interning at KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles—back when Michaela Pereira and Sam Rubin were on air. It was fast-paced, full ofenergy and honestly, a bit dreamlike. There were rigorous security checkpoints just to getinto the building, and celebrity guests were always dropping by the set.

I wrote for the station’s website and got a behind-the-scenes look at how stories cometogether in real time. It taught me how to think fast, write clearly, and capture attention in a matter of seconds. That experience lit the spark—it showed me just how powerful the right words can be.

I have 15+ years of experience in writing, editorial, and marketing. Past clients include interior designers, business coaches, SaaS brands, and lifestyle entrepreneurs. I hold a degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations.

I see the privilege of copywriting as part psychology, part journalism, and part artistry. I have a knack for uncovering what makes your brand sing—and turning it into messaging that moves people.

After office hours: You’ll find me on the soccer sidelines cheering on my kids, or curled up with a book, sipping a honey citrus mint tea, or hunting for spicy-lime Trader Joe’s snacks.

At the West Coast Writing House studio, every day is a bring-your-pet-to-work day. Luna, my spirited German Shepherd, keeps me on a steady schedule of fresh-air breaks, while Boots—the tuxedo cat—handles quality control from his post beside my laptop.
